...post your favorite Saturday morning cartoon (RIP). Mine was Swat Catz and Beetlejuice. Remember, it has to be Saturday morning specific*, Pinky and the Brain and Batman, The Animated Series were NOT Saturday morning specific cartoons. They were more of a 3pm after school cartoon block.
*Well actually, screw it, ANY Cartoon from back in your day!!!!

Loony Toons. The original. On ABC I believe at 11 or 11:30am. I don't recall ever seeing Swat Catz on network TV on Saturday morning.

lol you spelled it as Brian not Brain.

Pinky and the Brain and Batman were on Saturdays as well. They just played re runs on the weekdays. They have Batman, the animated series on Amazon Prime now and my son is watching it. It sucks though because on some of the older episodes they used the newer intro. The original intro was gold.
Also, Swatkats are frickin awesome. Who didn't want to be super hero jet fighter pilots that operate out of a junk yard?

I can't remember what was on on saturday mornings when I was a kid.. but I THINK it was DJ Kat show, so it was probably The Transformers.
This is only the Theme song.. but COME ON MAN :)

SWAT CATZ was the shit. So much gadget porn in that show. It was awesome.
My favorite episodes had to be the one where they had to take down the Red Baron for the second time, in the new and advanced Police Jet.

Yeah I was asking around my department and Looney Tunes has come up more than once. It was always good to watch. I think it varied around different towns but Swat Cats would come out in a Hanna Barbera block early Saturday.
![]() 10/06/2014 at 10:44 |

Yep. The first one was going up against the Baron in his bi-plane. The second one involved him stealing the super advanced police jet.

Yeah, I watched some old episodes with my kid and I was just amazed because I've gone back and watched other old cartoons I loved as a kid and was shocked to see how crappy they really are. Batman stands the test of time.

DC animation has generally always been good. The movies (starting from Mask of the Phantasm) remain fresh too.

While I like a lot of the other stuff I hold this series in a much higher regard than the rest and that includes when they changed the animation style after the launched the superman cartoon.

lol yup, I watched it religiously and all shows like it. My sense of humor has a direct link. I just can't remember it as much as you, proven through Nibby style posts.

Hands down. Not to mention the voice acting, OH GOD THE VOICE ACTING.
No one ever has - and I doubt anyone ever will do - done Batman and Joker better than Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill. Whether I'm watching an animated movie or live-action, I always end up comparing the performance to Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy.
And they always end up falling short.

WB was so utterly stupid for wanting to change the animation style to "fit in" to their Super Hero programming bloc.

I still listen to the Christmas soundtrack. Me, I want a hula-hoop Haha

Freakazoid and The Animaniacs were two of my favorites when growing up. You can still enjoy them as an adult - even more so because now you realize just how many dirty jokes were hidden in those shoes that you never noticed when you were a kid.
If you haven't gone back and watched those as an adult, I highly suggest you do.

lol soon enough after Halloween :] I remember mostly Theodore was always hungry lol
![]() 10/06/2014 at 11:23 |

Oh definitely, I can watch them now as well. YEES, those cartoons had sooo many hidden adult jokes lol. I can't remember right now but I was watching an episode of Pup nemed Scooy-doo and there was seriously an ejaculate joke made by Freddy lol

a buuunch of others. Best thing is that they are still good to watch with kids. Stuff today on Disney channel or whatever is just a bunch of rich kids with rich kid problems lol. Cartoons are where it's at. My sense of humor is directly links with Beetlejuice, Johnny Bravo, and King of The Hill

Agreed!!
And whoever says Looney Tunes and Popeye are too violent can suck it!
